Samson Investment Co.

Samson Investment Co. is a privately held exploration and production company based in Oklahoma. The business recently began operating pipelines and was unable to train in-house for operator qualification. The company’s pipeline specialist turned to contractors to assist with the new requirements needed to operate under U.S. Department of Transportation regulations.

Tri-State Industrial Group

Tri-State Industrial Group is a global organization comprised of four entities. Through one of its contracting organizations — Tri-State Electrical Inc. — the corporation began working with the oil and gas market, performing maintenance and construction. The electrical contractor works with the ISNetworld program to manage a variety of data for conformance verification. The small contractor was overwhelmed with the intricacies of the program and needed help managing the data within the program and assisting with reporting safety-related data. The larger industrial group also needed assistance with data management through ISNetworld for its other entities.

Corrosión y Protección Ingeniería

In the Country of Mexico, there is no current requirement for pipeline operators or their contractors to be operator qualified (OQ). However, the oil industry is anticipating a legislative requirement for OQ in the future. In anticipation of this, Corrosión y Protección Ingeniería, while working for Petróleos Mexicanos, began the process of establishing an internal qualification process based on the American Petroleum Institute’s task list.
